What is HSK 1 Exam?
HSK (Level 1) tests candidates' ability to apply Chinese in everyday life, and it corresponds to the International Standard for Chinese Language Proficiency Level 1 and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) Level A1. Those who pass the HSK (Level 1) can understand and use some very simple Chinese words and sentences to meet specific communicative needs and have the ability to learn Chinese further.
HSK (Level 1) is designed for those who have studied Chinese for one semester (half a school year) at a pace of 2-3 hours per week. The test takers have mastered the 150 most commonly used words and related grammatical knowledge.
The HSK (Level 1) consists of 40 questions, divided into two parts: listening and reading.
All exams take approximately 40 minutes (including 5 minutes for candidates to fill out personal information).

1. Listening Comprehension
The recording of each question will be played twice
Part 1. For each question, One phrase and One picture will be provided. Students should answer true-or-false based on content.
Part 2. For each question, One sentence and 3 pictures will be provided. Students should choose corresponding pictures based on content.
Part 3. For each question, A dialogue and several pictures will be provided. Students should choose corresponding pictures based on content.
Part 4. For each question, one person will then ask a question and provide three selections for answers. The three possible answers will be listed on the test paper, and Students choose one of the answers based on content.
